Ingredients for this fresh Apple Coffee Cake recipe
200 grams of sugar
375 grams of standard flour
5 grams of salt
600 grams apple pie filling (or similar stewed apple mix)
115 grams of butter that has been softened
15 grams of baking powder
350 mls of whole milk
5 grams of ground cinnamon
Apple Coffee Cake Topping:
60 grams of chopped walnuts
30 grams butter that has been melted
55 grams of brown sugar
Apple Coffee Cake Glaze
15 grams of butter that has been softened
10 mls of water
90 grams of confectioners or icing sugar
4 mls of vanilla extract
Preparation and cooking instructions for fresh Apple Coffee Cake
In a larger mixing bowl, first cream the butter and sugar. Then beat in the three eggs. Combine into the mix the flour, the baking powder and the salt; add this to the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
Once combined, pour half of this mixture into a greased 13 inch.x 9 inch.x 2 inch deep baking dish. Combine the apple pie filling and the cinnamon; spoon the cinnamon and apple pie mix over the cake batter.
Drop the remaining coffee cake batter over the filling; spread gently. Use a butter knife or spatula for this.Combine the coffee cake topping ingredients and sprinkle them over the batter.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center of the apple coffee cake comes out clean. Cool the apple coffee cake on a wire rack or similar.
Now mix together the glaze ingredients; drizzle the fresh glaze over either warm or cooled apple coffee cake.
