Apple crumble recipe

Ingredients for this apple crumble recipe 


100 grams or one cup of rolled oats.

50 grams or 1/3 of a cup of flour -your choice, but wholemeal is excellent.

2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

1 teaspoon of mixed spice.

1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

60 millilitres of vegetable oil - macadamia or perhaps sunflower.

2 tablespoons full of almonds, slivered.

4 large apples that have been peeled, cored,and sliced. Granny smith are best but Gala apples are good too.

45 grams or half a cup of oat bran, processed is best.


Preparation and cooking instructions for fresh apple crumble

First, heat your oven to 180 degrees Centigrade.

Place the cored, sliced, apples with the mixed spices and place the ingredients into a round ovenproof dish - 20 cm or similar.

Once the oven is at temperature, bake these apple crumble ingredients in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes.

While the apples and spices are baking, place the rest of the ingredients  into a food processor and process until they are a nice mix resembling crumbles.

Spoon this second ingredients mixture over the baked apples and spice mixture and press firmly with a metal spoon or spatula. This will give the mixture the right density and look.

Now bake the complete apple crumble mixture for another 30 minutes or so or until apples are ready. a good way to gauge this is with a blunt fork.
